Happy Hour Parrot on a New Perch in Minnesota – 2011…Brrrrrrrrrr!
While Canadian Geese and all types of related winged fowls were singing the Tom Rush version of “The Urge for Goin” and flying South…the Happy Hour Parrot was pulling a Reverse Snowbird move…leaving the sunny beaches of Southern California and landing in the wilds of Minnesota! Needless to say, lots of time will be spent fireside this winter with cocktail in hand…especially, when temps hit 35 below zero….however, not to worry, Happy Hour field reports will still be posted….even if sent via dog sled! The locals are proving to be of very hardy stock….where 2 for 1′s and super cheap Happy Hours are “alive and well” at all the bars and taverns….sorry Massachusetts! Cheers…HHParrot
Apres Ski Memories of North Country Fair, VT (Mt. Snow)!
Winter is back and soon ski season…and here’s a vintage Happy Hour photo of John M. Organ…the ”M” stands for “massive” (circa 1980′s) on stage at the North Country Fair…just a few miles from the slopes of Mt. Snow Vermont! From summers on Cape Cod to winters in Vermont, John…ever the showman, never ceased to entertain his throng of Happy Hour fans whatever the season!! And he’s still at it…performing at Ocean’s Bar in Hyannis…wonder if he has plans to venture North this year? I’d love to hear a chorus again of “Snow…snow…snow…here is comes!” Cheers, HH Parrot
John Morgan Wows the Crowd at Ocean’s Waterfront Bar, Hyannis
Here’s a recent pic (Friday 9/30/11) of John doing what he says “he does 2nd best”…you ladies will have to ask him what he does best:) Thanks to Charlie F. from Randolph who shared this photo…and told me when he shot this, John was at the top of his game and in the middle of singing the Kingsmen’s infamous song ”Louie Louie”….the X-rated version and the dance floor was packed! Looks like to John’s right there’s a senior walker turned into a giant tip jar! How funny is that…he’s a master of self promotion! We love you man!!!!! The Official Happy Hour “Screw” Kazoo!
The KAZOO as we know it today was designed and built by Alabama Vest and Thaddeus Von Clegg in Macon, Georgia In the early 1840's. In 1852 it was exhibited at the Georgia State Fair and was later manufactured under the name, because of its shape, "DOWN SOUTH SUBMARINE". It soon became the favorite of children and street musicians and then found its way into JAZZ, JUG and HILLBILLY bands. The KAZOO is the ONLY "ALL AMERICAN" MUSICAL INSTRUMENT.
Note for Happy Hour newbees! No excuses now....when John Morgan requests his audience, to "bring your Kazoos"....this is what the Official "Screw" Kazoo looks like...don't be fooled by imitations! Not only can you screw the top off to replace membranes....but I've been told a screen can be substituted if you want to also get dual use as a dope pipe...who would have thought!!! Cheers, HHParrot

Just some of John’s fans “hanging out” and wondering where he’s playing? Best I’ve learned…”all summer long,” he’ll be playing at these two locations on Cape Cod:
Friday’s at 7 pm…at Ocean’s Bar on Ocean St. in Hyannis
Sunday’s 8-10 pm…at Jake Rooney’s on Rt. 28 in Harwich Port
Suggest you call to double check on timing, etc. if you’re planning on driving a long distance. And don’t forget girls…they may have a dress code….so pull em up, at least to get in the door!!! What’s summer without a John Morgan Happy Hour! HHParrot
Happy…..”Happy Hour” Summer—-2011!!!
“Houston the HappyHourParrot Has Landed”….well, just completed another transfer from sunny Southern California to the wilds of Minnesota….”you betcha!” Home of 10,000 lakes, very big snow storms, tornados, hail storms and riding lawn mower races…and lots of Happy Hour dive bars! Two for one’s are still alive and well….with HUGE beer selections….a joy!! But not to worry, I’m always in a Cape Cod state of mind….and here’s a shot of my computer screensaver to prove it! So, for the next period of time, I’ll be blogging on the Happy Hour scene from a perch that’s in a little bit higher latitude! HHParrot

Hey blog fans, here’s a “rare” blast from the past….an early 1970′s vintage day-glow John Morgan Happy Hour Bumper Sticker with adhesive back still in place….WOW!!!! Condition is very good with few noticeable beer stains. Forget your 401K…and real estate is in the dumpster….so what is one to do? Here’s an idea….collect Happy Hour Memorabilia…if you can find it, it’s the next investment trend experts say! As New England Baby Boomers try to recapture those great memories from Cape Cod summers….it’s like an archaeological dig finding this stuff, unlike today’s digital photos and videos that record EVERYTHING!!!… HHParrot
