John Morgan Begins His “46th Happy Hour Summer” on Cape Cod….Hide the Children!

It all started back in 1967! John informed his mother that he’s off to play his guitar and sing on Cape Cod….but only for the summer. Needless to say for his thousands of Happy Hour fans…..the rest is history! He now jokingly admits he’s done over 7,000 live shows….three of which he was completely sober. Throughout his career, Cape Cod remained his musical base of operations, especially during summers but New England’s changing seasons helped him expand his Happy Hours to winter’s in Vermont performing at The North Country Fare at Mt. Snow and at too many college town bars and pubs to list throughout Massachusetts,  like in Amherst, Springfield, Worchester, Holyoke, etc. Over the years, he’s perfected his unique craft of music and humor…and he’s sounding better than ever! You can currently catch him at Ocean’s in Hyannis on Friday nights and at Jake Rooney’s in Harwich Port on Saturday nights. Congratulations John on another milestone and keep those memories and Happy Hours alive!!! Cheers, HH Parrot

Happy Hour Parrot on a New Perch in Minnesota – 2011…Brrrrrrrrrr!

While Canadian Geese and all types of related winged fowls were singing  the Tom Rush version of “The Urge for Goin” and flying South…the Happy Hour Parrot was pulling a Reverse Snowbird move…leaving the sunny beaches of Southern California and landing in the wilds of Minnesota! Needless to say, lots of time will be spent fireside this winter with cocktail in hand…especially, when temps hit 35 below zero….however, not to worry, Happy Hour field reports will still be posted….even if sent via dog sled! The locals are proving to be of very hardy stock….where 2 for 1’s and super cheap Happy Hours are “alive and well” at all the bars and taverns….sorry Massachusetts! Cheers…HHParrot

John Morgan Happy Hour Early 1970’s Memorabilia!

Hey blog fans, here’s a “rare” blast from the past….an early 1970’s vintage day-glow John Morgan Happy Hour Bumper Sticker with adhesive back still in place….WOW!!!! Condition is very good with few noticeable beer stains. Forget your 401K…and real estate is in the dumpster….so what is one to do? Here’s an idea….collect Happy Hour Memorabilia…if you can find it, it’s the next investment trend experts say! As New England Baby Boomers try to recapture those great memories from Cape Cod summers….it’s like an archaeological dig finding this stuff, unlike today’s digital photos and videos that record EVERYTHING!!!… HHParrot

The Summer of 2010! Marks John Morgan’s 44th Year on Cape Cod….Three Generations of “Happy Hours” and Going STRONG!!

Makes me ponder how many broken guitar “G-strings” and Buddy Holly references that adds up to in his entertaining career to-date? One can only imagine! And gives new meaning to the Jimmy Buffett lyric from Margaritaville…”Don’t know the reason that I stayed (played) here all season,….!” Well, obviously John knows and has found a home on Cape Cod and his fans old and young….LOVE it and him!! You can catch him every Friday evening (7-9 pm) at Ocean’s Waterfront Saloon in Hyannis…Thanks for the memories John!! NOTE: Ocean’s has had a recent fire & John moved to the VFW in Hyannis, however, for most current scheduling it’s best to check his website at www.johnmorganhappyhour.com ….HH Parrot

Fabulous Farquahr (circa 1970/1971 Photo Memory!)

Hi Fans, let this take you back… a circa 1970/1971 Cape Cod Labor Day Weekend performance photo courtesy of Jay G. from Hopkinton! Brother’s Condor (Dennis) and Hummingbird (Bobby) perhaps singing “My Island” or “Daddy I Tried” or doing harmony on some ballad…in any case, a moment to enjoy for all of us that remember their great music and live shows! It’s hard to believe that was 40 years ago….thanks for the memories guys!….HHParrot

The Fabulous Farquahr

Hello, Fabulous Farquahr fans…here’s a circa 1970/’71 photo memory of the boys taken over Labor Day Weekend “somewhere” on Cape Cod…thanks to and compliments of Jay G. from Hopkinton, MA! Sure glad someone carried a camera back in those days! From the tilt of Hummingbird’s sombrero and the way he’s holding those maracas…think this has to be the infamous and very funny song….”El Groino!”…..before he says; “This Fruit of the Loom, must be home soon, to tiptoe thru the tulips with Zorro!”…Cheers, HHParrot

You’re the best John!…HHParrot
